Two weekends ago my best friend and I went on a trip to California to celebrate her 26th birthday and me being (almost) cancer free! It was so much fun and the perfect get-a-way. Our favorite day of the trip was when we drove down to Big Sur along Highway 1, the Pacific Coast Highway, and stopped at amazing view points along the way.
We stayed in Salinas, CA so we had a 30 minute drive before we got to our starting point which was Monterey, CA. Our first big stop was Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. If you have to visit one place on Highway 1 I would highly recommend stopping there! It is unbelievably beautiful and one of my favorite places I've ever been. After Point Lobos we just drove down the highway and pulled off at almost every area we could to take in the amazing views of the ocean and cliffs.
Take a look at the photos I was able to capture and start planning a trip out there for yourself! You won't regret it.

This was the first time seeing the Pacific Ocean for both of us so we were really excited! This is in Carmel-By-The-Sea.
The next few pictures are from Point Lobos State Natural Reserve.

These pictures don't even do the place justice. It was so beautiful and we probably could have sat and watched the water break against the rocks for the entire day.

I was really excited to finally be by the ocean :)
Next, we continued down the coast stopping wherever we could.

The last two pictures are from McWay Falls. We couldn't believe how blue the water was!
I'm going to keep this short and sweet so you can just enjoy the photos. Have you ever been to the Pacific Ocean or drove the Pacific Coast Highway? What is your favorite vacation you've ever taken?
Happy Exploring!
