THROUGH A LENS: JANUARY 2016

Isn't it funny how you set New Year Resolutions and fail before January is even over? I guess I haven't failed completely yet but my biggest goal was to post on my blog at least once a week and, as you can see, that hasn't happened! However, I am on my way towards reading 18 books, I've been writing in my "One Line A Day" journal (a little delayed sometimes), I've been praciticing my handlettering, I've eaten out less, and have actually been working out at least three days a week! So I guess I'm not doing too bad! I'd just like to be able to focus on my blog as much I was hoping I could when I wrote my resolutions!
Anyway, here is what I've been up to throughout January! It's been quite busy already and so much fun! Here is my January - through my iphone lens!

Kirk and I spent our New Year's Eve weekend up in Lutsen, Minnesota in a cabin with eight other friends and hitting the slopes! I got new skis for Christmas so I was so excited to try them out! Even thought it had been about 10 years since I had been skiing. On our way home we stopped at one of our favorite spots on the North Shore called Black Beach to see it all frozen and beautiful!

Since I've set a goal to read 18 books this year I had to make a visit to Half Price Books of course! I bought two new ones and sold some that I've finished as well as some old school books that have been hanging around my bedroom way too long!

On January 4th I celebrated three wonderful years with Kirk!

I loaded up on craft supplies! Including clearance glitter from Target and some new yarn to start a weaving to hang on my wall!

Work has been very busy this month! It started with our Annual Sales Meeting to learn about all the new products being offered this year! We spent three days at the Radisson Blu at the Mall of America hearing from different spearkers and attending social event to get to know the other reps from throughout the world. Ever since the meeting I have been so busy with requests and designs so I've been staying busy with some really cool projects!

Towards the end of the month I went Fogo de Chão with Kirk and his colleagues for their Holiday Party! The food was delicious, the group was funny, and the night was a lot of fun! After dinner we went to Shout House to see the Dueling Pianos and I got this great shot of the Wells Fargo Center on the way back to our car.
This month I also went up to Green Lake to spend the weekend at my aunt's and uncle's cabin so we could celebrate Kirk's and my cousin Jeff's birthdays! They share the same birthday and this is the third year in a row that we've celebrated at the cabin! We had to battle really cold weather when we were up there (-30 windchills!) so we spent most of the time in the cabin play cards and watching football.
This January has been a great start to 2016 and I can't wait to see what February has in store!
